FULL ROLE DESCRIPTION

We are recruiting Wellbeing & Activity Facilitators to deliver structured, inclusive wellbeing and engagement sessions in care homes and community settings, helping people stay active, connected, and confident.

This is a facilitation role, not a traditional sports coaching position, and is ideal for people looking for daytime, school-hours-friendly work that can build into regular, scheduled sessions over time.

About the role

You will deliver pre-designed wellbeing and engagement sessions focused on inclusion, confidence, movement, and social interaction.

Sessions are structured and supported, and you will not be expected to design programmes, teach PE curriculum content, or provide therapy or clinical care.

Training, session plans, and ongoing support are provided.

Where you may deliver

Depending on programme needs and suitability, delivery may include:

  • Care home and retirement community wellbeing sessions

  • Light-touch lunchtime wellbeing, sport, or engagement sessions (normally delivered as part of an existing day’s schedule)

  • School-based team-building or engagement sessions

  • After-school sessions (where competence, training, and availability allow)

  •

The mix of session types will vary as programmes expand.

Sessions are delivered at different venues, so the ability to travel independently between locations is required.

Typical delivery times (guide)

Sessions are usually delivered within the following windows:

  • Morning: around 10:30am to 11:45am

  • Lunchtime sessions: around 12:15pm to 1:15pm

  • Afternoon: around 1:45pm to 2:45pm

  • After-school (where applicable): around 3:15pm to 4:15pm or 4:30pm

  •

Sessions are scheduled and fixed once agreed.

Expected hours

Weekly hours vary depending on your availability and the programmes being delivered.

Most facilitators begin with a small number of regular scheduled sessions, with opportunities to build up hours over time as new programmes come on stream.

Pay and session rates

This role is paid on a per-session basis, with typical earnings averaging approximately £13.45 per hour across scheduled working time.

Typical session rates include:

  • Care home wellbeing sessions: £20 per session

  • Lunchtime sessions (wellbeing, sport, or engagement): £15 per session

  • After-school sessions: £20 per session

Session rates are structured so that overall earnings meet or exceed minimum hourly thresholds when combining scheduled sessions and travel directly between them.
Extended gaps where facilitators are free to leave are not treated as working time.

Who this role suits

This opportunity is well suited to people with experience or interest in:

  • Care, support, or community roles

  • Education, youth work, or facilitation

  • Wellbeing, engagement, or group activity delivery

You do not need to be a qualified sports coach. Attitude, reliability, and people skills matter more than sporting ability.

Full training and support are provided. We are looking for the right people, not perfect CVs.

Progression opportunities

As programmes grow, there are opportunities to progress into roles such as:

  • Senior Facilitator or Supervisor

  • Assistant Manager

  • Manager or Area Manager

Progression is based on performance, reliability, suitability, and programme growth.
